The book emerged from an idea for a nested book structure, one that could be unpacked like a series of matryoshka dolls.

The book moves from rough to increasingly delicate materials. The page spread behind this one is held closed with a rare earth magnet; many people handling the book for the first time will only look at the first two page spreads. The third is easily opened if you pry the pages apart using a slot near the bottom of the fore edge. The key may be used to do this.
