I've been working on a project to sort English words by sounds in a matrix format. This idea grew out of writing children's books for beginning readers, but morphed into an analytical tool--hopefully, one that conveys both a sense of order and an enticement to explore. Functionally, it's somewhere between the periodic table of the elements and an advent calendar.
