The book is a fluid, rope-like accordion-fold, made from heavy watercolor paper hinged with muslin. The hinges rotate freely; the book twists and tumbles in the hands. Triangular facets lead the reader back and forth between the word list and a glossary of vessel types mentioned in the text. Naval vessels are drawn to scale, with the tiny front elevation of my house included as a reference.
